As someone who grew up with Peter Parker as a kindred spirit, I am so excited for this film! I'm still not sold on the dark tone from the first trailer (which is posted below the pics for your viewing convenience), but... hey!... it's Spider-Man!

Captain America's Avengers Uniform

I found this image online of what someone says is Captain America's uniform from the upcoming Avengers film. It sure does look like what we've seen on the Avengers character posters. I like that it's a combination of the classic Cap suit with what he was wearing in the Captain America flick.

A New Spider-Man?

The Ultimate Marvel universe was shaken up last month with the death of Peter Parker in Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #160. But it seems that, despite who's wearing the costume, Marvel just can't keep Spidey down. Ultimate Fallout #4 reveals someone else wearing a slightly altered Spidey suit (are those kneepads?). Who is it? As of now Marvel's not telling but, regardless of the universe, no one can replace Peter Parker. Did we learn nothing from Ben Reilly?

The Avengers Assembled!

Yesterday, you saw the seven character posters for The Avengers, due in 2012 from Marvel Films. After, I'm sure you were still wondering what these guys would look like assembled as a team? Well, wonder no longer, true believers! The seven posters can be combined to create one awesome panoramic shot of the entire Avengers team. Now... who wouldn't kill to have this piece commandeering a wall in your home?

Marvel Comics' film version of The Avengers has really been amping up the excitement the past few months. Both Thor and Captain America have post-credits button teasers for the new film. Now Marvel has released seven beautiful character posters for the film at SDCC. The posters feature the main Avengers characters in all their glory! What do you think?

The Official DCU Relaunch Poll

Okay. By now, the entire comic fanboy world has heard that DC Comics plans to relaunch it's entire line with a series of 52 #1 issues beginning on August 31st with the release of Justice League #1. Over the past week, DC has been releasing the titles of the books that will make up the new DCU. So, here it is... the ultimate showdown...

The Red Skull Revealed!

Entertainment Weekly just released an awesome high-res pic of Hugo Weaving as The Red Skull from the upcoming Captain America film. I expected Marvel to keep more of a lid on the iconic villain's actual image but, I must say... if this were my villain, I'd want to show him off too!

Captain America hits theaters July 22.

 

 

 

Spider-Man Film Gets a Title and a New Pic

The upcoming Spider-Man reboot was given the final title of The Amazing Spider-Man today. Marvel also released the first official image of Spidey in his full costume and it does indeed look very cool and brooding.

I'm just happy that it wasn't called Spider-Man 3D.

I used to read X-Men religiously back in the Claremont days of the '80s. Yeah. I'm showing my age there. That said, I haven't been a huge fan of the X-Men movie franchise. They each had their good moments (the appearance of Nightcrawler being my personal favorite) but were all too uneven for my tastes.

Yesterday, the first trailer was released for X-Men: First Class. The new film is a prequel that details the early days of young mutants Charles Xavier (Prof. X) and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) during their college years in the turbulent 1960s. Personally, I like the look of this one. The classic yellow and blue costumes look amazing! Also, the fact that they chose to leave out the much-overused Wolverine is a huge plus.

The REAL Green Lantern Trailer Hits the Net

I was jazzed when Entertainment Tonight released some Green Lantern footage a few days ago but now.... wow!

A new spanish subtitled trailer has leaked to the web and it is amazing! Sinestro! Hector Hammond! I'm in fanboy Heaven right now.

Green Lantern Movie Teaser (video)

The first footage from the upcoming Green Lantern movie staring Ryan Reynolds is finally online courtesy of a teaser commercial from Entertainment Tonight!

You don't get to see Sinestro (which is what I was keeping a keen eye out for) but you do get a brief glimpse at the poozer-maker himself... Kilowog!

Update: I said Sinestro's not in this teaser but I think that may be a quick glipse around the 7 second mark. I guess I'll have to wait for a higher res version to be sure.

Watch the First Footage of The Goon in CGI

In case you've been living under a rock, Eric Powell's amazing comic The Goon is being made into a feature film. The details have been scarce but here's what we know: the film is being produced by David Fincher (Fight Club, SE7EN). It stars Clancy Brown (Carnivale) and Paul Giamatti (American Splendor) as The Goon and his pal Franky respectively.

But enough of that, just watch the video and be amazed!

I've long since had The Sultan gaming table from Geek Chic on my want list. Today, I was showing The Sultan to a friend and found that the gang that made The Sultan are now making a nice piece of furniture to store comics and cards! I love me some RPGs... but comics are my life-source. It's not officially on sale yet and there's no price given but, regardless, this thing just went on my if-you-want-to-be-my-best-friend-forever gift list!

Frank Darabont Talks about The Walking Dead

To go along with the awesome images from AMC's The Walking Dead that I posted a couple of days ago, AMC also released this teaser video with director Frank Darabont discussing his ideas for the show. It doesn't reveal much that we didn't already know but I'm so excited about this show that every little detail is like candy to me. Enjoy!

Serenity: The Shepherd's Tale Cover Art Revealed

The story that every fan of Joss Whedon's Firefly/Serenity has been dying to know finally hits shelves this November. What story is that you ask? Just who the heck is Derrial "Shepherd" Book? Really? What do we know thus far? Not much.

Throughout the series, movie and interviews with Joss Whedon, we've gleaned the following about Shepherd Book...

• He can fight and handle a gun with the best of them.
• He knows his way around the Serenity.
• He has some major pull with the Alliance.
• Derrial is not his real name. He took the name of a man that he killed.
• Part of his body is artificial.
• He found God in a bowl.
• He is known for his greatest failure.

...and that's about it.

But this November we'll find the whole story when Dark Horse releases The Shepherds Tale graphic novel that is supposed to fill in the backstory of this enigmatic character.

CBR (via an exclusive with Dark Horse) gave us our first real hint at what the story will include with this image of the book's cover. There are hints there in the pages flying around our hero. But, just like what we've been given so far, they are only hints. What's with the snake underfoot? What's happening in those images? We'll have to wait until November to find out. For now, just check out the image below and take your best guesses.

1st Official Images from AMC's The Walking Dead

AMC has released the first official images of some of the zombies from their upcoming adaptation of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic. The series will be directed by Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) and follows the story of Kentucky police officer Rick Grimes and the survivors that he encounters during a zombie apocalypse.

The show premiers this October on AMC and, if the news thus far is any indication, is going to be amazing!
